What is Love.

 

I have discovered the love of my life,
And as I prepare for her to be my wife.
I pondered why we felt so strong,
And realized we had known all along.

 

We had a talk late one night,
What made a relationship feel just right?
Trust and honesty, to a tee.
Endurance, compassion and loyalty.

 

An unspoken gaze, just for a friend,
A light from within that has no end.
Song and laughter to dazzle the ear,
Smiles so wondrous, seen many a year.

 

Willingness to overlook life's imperfections,
Gentle kind deeds with personal reflections.
A peaceful ease and rest is sought,
An ability to finish each others thoughts.

 

Silent dedication to not grow apart,
Skillful protection of each others heart.
Now putting together what it all means,
Our love is as comfortable as my favorite jeans.
